Off-Leash Obedience

Pack Leader Skills

You'll learn techniques to establish yourself as the pack leader at home, so your dog looks to you for direction and stays calm under pressure.

ðŸĪ

Owner Training Day

Go-home day includes hands-on training with you. Marty will walk you through every command so you can maintain and build on your dog's progress.

New Program Addition

Rajun Kennels
Hits the Road

The next level of training has arrived. Marty has added an optional Week 3 to the program, taking dogs out into the community to proof their skills in the real-world settings where it matters most.

To be eligible, your dog must first complete Marty's 2-week board and train program. Week 3 is open to all past graduates as a tune-up combined with in-town training. New dogs can add it on at the end of their initial 2-week session.

It's one week of real-world proofing that takes everything your dog learned in training and puts it to the test out in the wild.

Training Method

The E-Collar Advantage

Marty trains using a remote training collar (e-collar), introduced at the lowest level the dog can feel. The collar acts as a communication tool — not a punishment device. Dogs quickly understand it as a gentle tap that means "pay attention," and they're happy to wear it.

You will need to purchase the e-collar before drop-off day. Marty recommends the Garmin Tri Tronics Sport Pro. Call Cindy at (805) 674-5579 for more information on this collar.

Marty generally asks that owners wait until go-home day to avoid disrupting the training process. In the meantime, he posts regular updates to Facebook so you can watch the progress and stay connected.

Week 3 is an optional add-on that takes training into real-world public settings: stores, parks, restaurants, the boardwalk, and more. It's available to all past graduates as a tune-up plus in-town training, and new dogs can add it onto the end of their initial 2-week session. Your dog must complete the standard 2-week program before being eligible. Call Cindy at (805) 674-5579 to add it on.
